Newton School Tide & Tiger Food Drive helps Ecumenical Ministries
Monday, November 30, 2009

Newton School students have enjoyed many activities this week centered on the Iron Bowl.  Students at all grade levels have used data charts, graphing skills, persuasive writing, and much more as they discussed the great competition between Alabama and Auburn.  Daily announcements featured respecting others' rights to various opinions and good sportsmanship.  With all of the hype that goes along with this game, Newton students gathered non-perishable food items to donate to Ecumenical Ministries.  The Tide & Tiger Food Drive brought in over 700 cans and boxes of food items that will go a long way to supporting the many needs in our communities.  Newton students and administrators were on hand to present the second round of donated food to Richard Bowen and Ashton Bradley with Ecumenical Ministries.
